History
The Lewisville Library started in the early 1950s as a volunteer run community library. In 1965, the first full time professionally trained librarian was hired. On September 1, 1968, the City of Lewisville designated the Library as a city department. In September 2018, the Lewisville Public Library celebrated it's 50th anniversary!

The Lewisville Public Library is a comfortable, inclusive gathering place where the community connects with resources and experiences that inspire and encourage personal enjoyment and growth. The Library offers a variety of print and digital resources, DVDs, specialty kits, computers, WiFi, printing, copying, scanning, fax, and much more! Specialized equipment and software available in the Digital Media Lab and The Hive makerspace. Lewisville library cards are free to any resident of Texas.
