History
My acupuncture practice was on Bishop Avenue in North Oak Cliff from 2006-2012. I joined the team at Manning Wellness in 2011, and now it is where I office exclusively. I used to be a software engineer, which is not as incongruous as one might think at first. I use a lot of Richard Tan's techniques, and while medicine was his family business, he studied engineering, too. He would say, yin/yang, this is binary. Practicing Chinese Medicine is applying a transforming algorithm. It's basically the same thing as coding. There are meridians in the body and pathways on a circuit board. Do the jumpers on the board not act the same as needles? They make the energy/electricity follow the correct path.
Specialties
While I am a Jet Li fan, it's not like Kiss of the Dragon. I use sterile, single-use needles to relieve pain and promote relaxation. It's profound, and that was one of the accurate point locations, but the wrist point won't knock you unconscious. What can acupuncture treat? Pretty much anything. It used to be the primary form of medicine for a large part of the world, and it continues to be used in hospitals worldwide. After over a decade of clinical practice, I feel I do my best work with frozen shoulder, back pain, and mental health. I'm also pretty good with knees, wrists, headaches, insomnia, Bell's Palsy, and digestive issues. Not to say I haven't been effective with other things; these are just the first that come to mind.
