History
In 1938 Ernestine Pizzini Chapa, the owner's Steven Pizzini's paternal aunt, founded the orginal Teka Molino and used many of her Mother's recipes. While that restaurant is now under different ownershi, Teka Molino remains a San Antonio staple, still famous for Ernestine's and Nona's recipes for gorditas, puffy tacos, and bean rolls. Twenty yers after Teka Molino's successful opening, Steven's father and Uncle Eddie Ledsinger opened the legendary Taco off Goliad Road. The Taco Hut was in continous operation for 40 years until it was forced to close in 1998. But we are back with Lala's. Welcome to the Pizzini family table. We're happy your back.
Specialties
Lala's specializes in masa! We stone grind our corn everyday in a Molino made and patented by the owners Great Uncle in 1932. With this ingredient, we create delicious puffy tacos, gorditas, guacamole cups, and bean cups.
