The Kerr County Sheriff's Office is a public agency that works towards preserving peace, order and safety; enforcing laws and ordinances; and safeguarding constitutional rights. It maintains animal control, crime prevention, criminal investigations, mounted patrol, homeland defense information divisions. The Kerr County Sheriff's Office also has criminal investigation, communication, jail, patrol, training and warrant divisions. In addition, it operates units for sex offenders and Internet crimes. The office supports and conducts various neighborhood watch and community outreach programs, including the Drug Abuse Resistance Education, which is an educational program that teaches children about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
