The Houston Processing Center is a component of Corrections Corporation of America, which specializes in the design, construction and management of prisons, jails and detention facilities. The organization provides inmate residential and prisoner transportation services through its Transcor America subsidiary in partnership with the government. It is one of the largest corrections systems in the United States with a total bed capacity of more than 80,000 in nearly 70 facilities in 20-plus states.
