History
In the mid 1990s a group of individuals out of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish saw the intense need to help families falling through the cracks - those who did not qualify for Medicare Medicaid or private insurance. The group got together and began providing free counseling in the back of the church and found physicians who provided pro bono work. The Catholic Diocese of Brownsville donated land in South McAllen and with grants a new facility was built in 2004 where families can get medical, counseling and educational care in one location.
