History
Dr. Jocelyn Herman is a proud Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2003. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from A&M in August 2003. After graduation, Dr. Herman accepted appointment as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy Reserves while she attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. While in training, she completed externships at the Birmingham VA Hospital and at the Pearl Harbor Naval Station, Hawaii. In 2007, she graduated as the Class Valedictorian. Following graduation, Dr. Herman was commissioned as an active duty Naval Lieutenant and was assigned to Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot, SC, where she was in charge of eye exams for incoming Marine recruits. She also was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC. In 2010, Dr. Herman left active duty and joined an ophthalmology private practice outside of Hilton Head, SC. She now resides in College Station with her husband, Mark, and their Yorkshire Terrier, Bella.
