HistoryBlue Moon Glassworks opened for business in 2001. We originally opened as a stained glass studio and teaching facility but have evolved into art glass fusing, flameworking, and jewelry classes. We have designed and installed hundreds of custom stained glass windows in home, churches, and businesses in the Austin area. Blue Moon started in a small 1200 sq. ft. building on N. Lamar & North Loop but out grew that facility after 5 years. We are now located in a 3000 Sq. ft. building in the heart of Hyde Park at 43rd. Street and Speedway. We have 2 teaching areas as well a kiln room and coldworking area for art glass. In addition we carry one of the most comprehensive inventories of art glass in the Austin area.SpecialtiesBlue Moon Glassworks is a full service retail & instructional art glass studio specializing in stained glass, glass fusing, mosaics, flameworking, and jewelry. We offer classes at every skill level. We also offer design, fabrication, and installation of custom stained glass as well as repair of existing stained glass. We have a state-of-the-art flameworking studio complete with torches and annealing kilns. In addition, we regularly welcome internationally renowned bead artists to teach advanced techniques.
