Houston Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and offers various degree and certificate programs. It has a library that provides access to more than 220,000 books and journals and over 22,000 media titles. The college offers degree programs in art, applied science, real estate, accounting, liberal arts, criminal justice, speech communication, behavioral science and philosophy. It also offers study programs in business information systems, practical nursing, computer science, teacher education, engineering and visual arts.
