History
Dr. Maria Evelina Guerrero, aka Dr. Evy, is a Board Certified pediatric dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Evy graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio in 2008. She received her certificate in pediatric dentistry from the UTHSCSA in 2010. She started her own practice in 2014. Dr. Evy's current professional interest lies in diagnosis and treatment of lip-tie and ankyloglossia also known as tongue-tie, which when malformed can directly affect a newborn's ability to latch during breastfeeding and cause a mom to have discomfort or even severe pain. In addition, a malformed attachment could interfere with proper chewing, swallowing, speech development, among other things later in life. Dr. Evy uses a soft tissue dental laser in the revision of abnormal lip tie and tongue tie.
