The Greater Houston Partnership, established in 1989, is a nonprofit organization that undertakes advocacy of public policy issues and business development initiatives throughout Texas. Its areas of responsibilities include expansion of businesses, employment generation, regional planning, economic development and international trade promotion. The organization also undertakes advocacy of regional business issues that include education and work force development, improvement in quality of life and availability of transportation and health care services. It operates through a partnership of more than 2,000 member companies and over 40 committees, councils and advisory boards. It also publishes business resource guides and organizes annual meetings, business workshops and seminars. The organization is headquartered in Houston.
