History
General Truck Body was founded in the early 1900's as a blacksmith shop where Boris Levitch put shoes on horses; then began building horse-drawn carriages. When motorized vehicles came into being, General Truck Body evolved with the times and began constructing bodies for this new mode of transportation. Early customers were Montgomery Wards, Safeway Stores and Campbell Dairies. In 1961, Morris Levitch established General Truck Body in Houston, Texas, 42 years after his father had originated the company. Barbara Levitch Paull purchased the company in 1984 and now serves as President and CEO. Her son, Josh Paull, represents the fourth generation of family ownership and management. Both production and sales staff bring years of experience to guiding customers in their choices - building the best, most cost effective solutions for commercial use.
