First Texas Development Corporation is a subsidiary of First Texas Bancorp, a bank holding company. The company has numerous branch locations throughout Texas. The present day First One of its branches, Texas Bank, was originally chartered in October 1933 as Farmers National Bank for the purpose of purchasing select assets of Belton National Bank, which failed during the Great Depression. On June 27, 1944, the name was changed to The First National Bank in Belton, Texas, and it remained so named for the ensuing 48 years until December 1992 when the bank was chartered as First Texas Bank, a state bank by the Texas Department of Banking. First Texas Development Corporation is located in Georgetown, Texas.
