Wise Regional Health System was established in 1973 by the city of Decatur, Texas, as a hospital authority for the area. The hospital provides health care programs and medical services to residents and visitors of the surrounding area. Services provided at Wise Regional include emergency, rehabilitation and therapy, cardiology, mammography and surgical care. Encompassed within the health system is the west campus which houses administration, emergency care, admissions, laboratory and pharmacy services and the intensive care unit; the east campus, which includes the aquatics and rehabilitation facilities, cardiac catheterization and physician offices; and the north central Texas Open MRI is the third facility within the system. The hospital does not receive any tax revenues. All activities are supported by hospital operations and donations from the public.
