Dr. David Gochnour, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is a graduate of Texas A&M with a degree in biomedical science, followed by medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He completed residency in General Surgery at UTHSC, and a fellowship in minimally invasive, robotic and bariatric surgery at UTHSC, Memorial Hermann Hospital, Texas Medical Center. Dr. Gochnour is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He participates in the Community Practice Committee of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and is State Faculty for the American College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support program. Dr. Gochnour was led into medicine when he was sent to a combat medic/EMT course while in the Army. He chose general surgery because of the satisfaction of witnessing patients having their lives changed after surgery. Dr. Gochnour enjoys ranching and spending time with family and friends. Locally he is involved in his church, the Brazos Valley Regional Advisory Committee and the Grimes County Fair Livestock committee. Not providing video visits at this time.
