HistoryAlan Eckert has been teaching for over ten years, three of which in the Austin area. In 2011, Alan moved to Austin to pursue various musical projects. While teaching at Georgetown Music Academy and Sense and Color School of Music in Cedar Park, he started his own private studio called Austin Drum and Piano Lessons where he teaches at Austin Music Lab as well as the students' homes.SpecialtiesI bring my experience in all corners of the music industry into the lesson while meeting each student's individual needs. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, and the key to success is ENJOYMENT! While reading skills, coordination skills, rudiments, scales and fundamentals are a major focus in the lessons, I strive to explore the music that the students love listening to. Discovering music that is special to you and learning from it has endless benefits. I encourage playing along to songs that students enjoy. This keeps things fun and makes the fundamentals more relevant as you are applying them in a musical way.
