Child Protective Services is a division of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The division investigates the reports of abuse and neglect of children throughout Houston. It also provides family placement and foster and kinship care services. It also offers medical, dental and eye care services. The division additionally provides physical and behavioral health care services, as well as clinical service and disease management programs. It also offers information resources on topics related to child abuse prevention for parents, professionals and communities. The division operates hot lines that provide nursing and behavioral health care services for caregivers and caseworkers. It offers support services for children who have left foster care. Child Protective Services provides Medicaid programs for eligible youths between the ages of 18 and 21.
