Charles Sims, MD, is a board-certified infectious disease specialist. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Dr. Sims completed his bachelors degree at Rice University and then earned his medical degree at the UT Health Science Center at Houston. After finishing school, Dr. Sims joined the United States Navy, where he completed his internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He then participated in a Fellowship in Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine and later became an Undersea Medical Officer for the U.S. Navy. After finishing his service, Dr. Sims participated in an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the UT Health Science Center at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center. He then started a private practice in Conroe and The Woodlands, where he served the community for 14 years. He has since joined Baylor St. Lukes Medical Group as an Area Medical Director and an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Sims also serves the community as the Local Health Authority for Montgomery County. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, an OB/GYN, and their four kids.
