In 1991, two of the world's leading aerospace companies, GE Aircraft Engines and SNECMA, created a separate company CFAN. CFAN was formed to meet the challenges of manufacturing high precision parts using advanced performance composites. CFAN has more than 3,000 GE90 composite fan blades delivered. The company specializes in building contoured, thick laminate airfoils. CFAN has produced composite parts with advanced fibers including carbon, kevlar and fiberglass; thermoset resins including epoxy, BMI and PMR15; and bonded structures containing metallic or composite honeycomb. CFAN is located in San Marcos, Texas.
