History
Dr. McKey opened the Briargrove Animal Clinic (BAC) in 1960 and at that time the area was surrounded by pastures. He sold the clinic to Drs. Ira Smith and Gary Guilloud in 1970. In 2011 Dr. Kelley Kurtz joined the practice. She had been practicing in Hoboken NJ while residing in Manhattan NY since 2007. In 2012 Dr. Kurtz took over ownership of BAC while both doctors stayed on to ensure a smooth transition. In August of 2013 Dr. Ira Smith retired to his farm near Shiner, Texas while Dr. Gary Guilloud has continued to practice part time. The Briargrove Animal Clinic is well known for its family atmosphere, thorough and pragmatic approach to veterinary medicine. The clinic has a good history of employee retention. Of the 5 full time employees not including the doctors the employees have a combined employment of 43 years.
