History
Gary Black began his optical career in March of 1996 for a National sunglass corporation. After managing the entire South Central region of the U.S. for over a decade he set his sights higher and founded Black Optical in 2007, bringing a fresh new perspective to the retail eyewear industry. Black Optical was founded on the principles of curating modern classics and forward thinking eyewear collections. It's mission is to fill the void of curated eyewear that offered discreet luxury with impeccable service. Black has fostered key relationships with top international designers like Jacques Marie Mage, Thom Browne and Mykita. He continues to curate the best eyewear collections from around the world. After initial success in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Black Optical is currently expanding into top grossing U.S. markets including Dallas, Texas and Newport Beach, California.
