The conventional auger pressure grouted pile is formed by augering materials from the ground to the surface with a continuous flight auger. Auger pressure grouted displacement piles are formed by displacing the soil to the perimeter of the pile. Pressure grouting is the process of pumping a cement or chemical grout into soft or weak strata of soil or voids, offering support for existing structures where foundations have shifted. Berkel s past projects include the Union Station in Washington, D.C., Cleveland Browns Stadium, Atlanta Arena and Georgia Dome.
