Owned and run by husband and wife team Stefano Zullian and Carla Susi, and Carla's sister Silvana Susi. Their home country, Venezuela is the country that grows some of the finest cacao in the world recognized by connoisseurs. This trio was always proud of their country's chocolate and spent time visiting the small farmers that take care of these delicate plants. They fell in love with the process. Having had the opportunity to learn from a friend, a chef and chocolatier Maria Di Giacobe, who was trained in France and Japan and who is owner of Kakao, they quit their jobs to immerse themselves in chocolate. The family went to work in her factory and learned from her experience. They created their own recipes catering to the American palate and came to Houston to open their first of three locations in 2010.

Araya Artisan Chocolate makes decadent, fresh, locally handcrafted chocolates all-natural and preservative free. Our creations are made with 100% Venezuelan chocolate, considered by connoisseurs as one of the best in the world. Then, we add natural fruit purees, cream, nuts, liquor, honey or agave instead of sugar, which means delicious treats with fewer calories and more nutrients. We also offer authentic French macarons in 10 exquisite flavors imported from France! At any of our locations, River Oaks, Uptown Park and Katy, you would be able to create your own chocolate or macaron box, or choose from our selection of gourmet Marshmallows, a new product we recently introduced. Find treats for kids, chocolate bars, coffee tea and hot chocolate too. Custom-made box for corporate gifts are also available, or choose from a large selection of favor boxes and products for dessert tables for parties and events.
