Dr. Steven Pisano, a native Texan from Waco and San Antonio, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and later earned his M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Southwestern Medical School. He completed his internship and general surgery training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the State University of New York in Buffalo. His plastic surgery training took place at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, followed by a year as a Junior Faculty Associate-Microvascular Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he specialized in breast reconstruction.In 1994, Dr. Pisano co-founded Plastic Reconstructive and Microsurgical Associates (PRMA) with Dr. Peter Ledoux to provide advanced breast reconstruction in San Antonio and South Texas. With over 18 years of experience and more than 3,000 breast reconstruction procedures performed, he is a recognized leader in the field. Dr. Pisano has been active in legislative efforts to secure insurance coverage for breast reconstruction and advocate for patient access to healthcare. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of several professional societies, committed to restoring wholeness and well-being to women with breast cancer.
