The American Arbitration Association is a nonprofit, public service organization committed to the resolution of disputes. It serves through the use of arbitration, mediation, conciliation, negotiation, democratic elections and other voluntary procedures. The organization provides alternative dispute resolution services to individuals and organizations who want to resolve conflicts out of court. The American Arbitration Association administers cases and filing and closing procedures. The organization also offers administrative services through its International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR). It provides assistance in setting hearings and appointment of mediators and arbitrators. The American Arbitration Association s services include the design and development of alternative dispute resolution systems for corporations, unions, government agencies, law firms and the courts. Founded in 1926, the organization maintains a location in Dallas.
