Alvin Community College is a public community institution that provides educational programs in workforce training, academics, technical fields, adult basic education and personal development. The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It offers career programs in broadcast communication, child development and early childhood, drafting, electronic technology, nursing and emergency medical technology. The college also offers various academic courses, including biological science, foreign languages, humanities, general studies, English, math, music, sociology and speech. In addition, the college has a career planning and job placement center that organizes job fairs and career workshops. Established in 1949, Alvin Community College has an annual enrollment of more than 4,000 students and is located in Alvin, Texas.
