The AIDS Foundation Houston, also known as AFH, is one of the lodest, nonprofit corporations that specializes in the management of HIV and other chronic illnesses in the United States. Founded in 1982, it provides design, implementation and evaluation of various programs. The foundation also offers the First Responders program. The AIDS Foundation Houston provides permanent and transitional housing, financial assistance and child monitoring programs. In addition, it conducts a HIV vaccine awareness campaign and international camps. The foundation offers volunteer opportunities and maintains an advisory council. The AIDS Foundation Houston provides services for more than 5,000 patients that include men, women and children.
