History
In 1988, a local Dallas businessman was moved by his concern for the problems associated poverty and took action by working with his church to launch the Central Dallas Food Pantry. In August 1994, current President and CEO, Larry James, joined the organization and shortly afterwards, Central Dallas Food Pantry began doing business as Central Dallas Ministries. In 2010, Central Dallas Ministries officially launched under the new name CitySquare. Today, CitySquare has 14 different programs that fight the causes and effects of poverty through service, advocacy, and friendship. Together as a community, we feed the hungry, heal the sick, house the homeless, and renew hope in the heart of our city.
