The Young Leaders Council (YLC) is a 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving the Nashville community for over 38 years. Founded in 1985, YLC offers a comprehensive training program consisting of eleven interactive sessions designed to develop fundamental board skills for young professionals between the ages of 25 and 40. Participants then complete a one-year internship with a nonprofit organization, where they serve as non-voting members of the working board, gaining valuable leadership skills and enhancing their professional network. With over 3,000 alumni who have made significant contributions to local nonprofit organizations, YLC continues to train the next generation of nonprofit board leaders.
YLC's mission is to train diverse and committed individuals to effectively participate on nonprofit boards, replenishing the volunteer leadership base and making a positive impact in the community. Through their programs and events, YLC aims to connect young professionals with opportunities to serve and lead in the nonprofit sector. With a focus on developing leadership skills and fostering community engagement, YLC invites individuals to apply for their training program and join the network of alumni who continue to make a difference in Nashville.
