The Public Works Department is one of the departments of the city of Chattanooga, Tenn. Its services include designing, construction and maintenance of the city; maintenance of sewer system and water system; collection and disposal of garbage; and recycling of household hazardous waste. The department s traffic engineering administration is responsible for the design of traffic signals, signs, street lights, parking meters and guardrails.
