The Springfield Police Department provides police protection to the local residents and employs more than 35 men and women who serve as commissioned officers. The department is located in Springfield, Tenn., and is responsible for the enforcement of law and order in the city. It receives assistance from all other public safety agencies in Robertson County, Texas. The department is a member of the Region 7 Homeland Security Group that is made up of various counties and addresses homeland security and terrorism issues. Additionally, the Springfield Police Department operates various divisions, such as criminal investigation, communications and records divisions. Its criminal investigation division has special police officers assigned to investigate all crimes involving personal and property damages, thefts, narcotic violations and juvenile crimes. The division also has patrol officers to provide 24-hour emergency services.
