The Robertson County Detention Facility, constructed in 1997, has a capacity of more than 210 inmates. It houses pretrial federal and state inmates, as well as state-sentenced criminals. Located in Springfield, Tenn., the detention facility employs over 30 full-time correctional and administrative officers. The Robertson County Detention Facility works under the Robertson County Sheriff's Office, which is a law enforcement agency that protects residents lives and property, maintains peace and order, and reduces crime through education, prevention and proactive police services. The sheriff s office maintains a K-9 unit that handles issues related to drug intervention, tracking, and searches for people, buildings and evidence.
