About Love In Action Love In Action International is a Christian discipleship ministry that exists to restore those trapped in sexual and relational sin through the power of Jesus Christ. Through individual biblical, custom intensive programs, and The Source residential program, we seek to empower men and women to embrace their identity in Christ, posture themselves to receive God's healing in their deep areas of emotional wounding, learn to meet their relational needs met in healthy ways, and make good choices that harmonize with their deeply felt moral convictions. In the safety and strength of God's love men and women of all ages have found the courage to step out of destructive and life-dominating patterns of sexual and relational sin. To provide support, counsel and Christian discipleship to individuals desiring freedom from sexually addictive behavior and identity ; To provide education, counsel and Christian discipleship to family and friends of those involved in sexually addictive behavior and identity ; To educate clergy, churches, and other groups to respond in greater numbers to the suffering community at that divine juncture where consequences are realized and forgiveness is possible. Love in Action International was founded by Frank Worthen in 1973. At age 43 Frank rededicated his life to Jesus after 20 years of pursuing homosexual behavior. With his testimony and a newspaper ad, Frank proclaimed a seldom-heard message: There is a way out of homosexuality, and his name is Jesus Christ! Love in Action is the oldest established member ministry of Exodus International, a nationwide referral network. We are a referral ministry of Focus on the Family and the American Family Association. Known around the world for our residential discipleship programs, we have had clients from all over the US and more than a dozen countries. In 1994 LIA moved from its original home of San Rafael, California to Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis has been a hospitable home, and its many vibrant churches play a crucial role in the ministry. In 2001 LIA started The Source, a groundbreaking residential discipleship program. Since then, hundreds of men and women have found freedom and significance in Christ through this uniquely powerful experience. We are privileged to be involved in serving the people of God by partnering with them in their journey out of bondage and into the freedom and power of obedience to Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God: perfect truth from cover to cover and pointing to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
