Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative is a nonprofit, member owned organization that provides electric and other products and services to more than 33,000 homes and businesses in the rural counties of Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Lewis and Perry in Middle Tennessee. It provides several services that include security lights, water heaters, heat pumps, surge protection and informational brochures. MLEC also provides Internet access, cash rebate programs, credit card products and electric grills and smokers. It maintains an active and visible role in its schools and in economic development.
