Southwest Tennessee Development District
Founded 1971, the Southwest Tennessee Development District was established by the General Assembly under the Tennessee Development District Act of 1965. As a nonprofit organization, the district offers planning services and promotes economic, community and human resource development. It offers a range of ageing and disability related services that include personal care, assisted living, homemaker and medication management. The district also provides emergency care and in-home respite options. It conducts the National Family Caregiver Support Program, Senior Medicare Patrol Project, Senior Citizens Law Project and Ombudsman Program, as well as maintains several senior centers. The Southwest Tennessee Development District is located in Jackson, Tenn.
