Tennessee School for the Deaf, located in Knoxville, Tenn., offers an individualized and comprehensive educational program. Established in 1844, the school provides modern curricula, materials and methods for the purpose of preparing students for adult life. Its instructional program serves students from preschool through grade 12. Students receive instruction in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, computer technology, vocational education, independent living skills, physical education and health, using a curriculum that is specifically designed to meet the educational needs of hearing-impaired students.
