History
Dr. Douglass has been practicing phlebology since 2001 when he opened the first full time practice limited to phlebology in the state of Tennessee. The American Board of Venous and Lymphatice Medicine (Phlebology) was recognized by the American Medical Association as the newest medical specialty in 2005. In May, 2008, Dr. Douglass was in the charter class of phlebologists certified by the American Board of Phlebology, making him one of the first board certified phlebologists in the nation. He is now in his eleventh year of full time phlebology practice. Dr. Douglass is an active member of both the American College of Phlebology and American Medical Association and a founding member of the American College of Phlebology Foundation. Dr. Douglass is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) and a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and a member of the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
