The Joseph N. Nicollet Tower & Interpretive Center, located in Sisseton, South Dakota, honors the legacy of Joseph N. Nicollet, a French mapmaker who explored the Coteau des Prairies in the 1830s. Visitors can climb the observation tower for stunning views of three states and explore the interpretive center, which features artwork by John S. Wilson and a video presentation detailing Nicollet's expeditions and the culture of the Dakota tribes.

This center serves as a tribute to Nicollet's contributions to cartography and his unique rapport with Native Americans, showcasing significant moments from his journeys. The facility also highlights the historical context of Nicollet's work, including his interactions with local tribes and the impact of his mapping on western exploration.
