The congregation of Messiah Lutheran Church worships in this modest, yet well adorned, old-style brick building with towering steeple and well-kept grounds. Pastor Craig Versprille takes pride in being actively involved in the activities of the church and the lives of its parishioners and puts emphasis on doing whatever one can to make a difference in the lives of others. The church runs a variety of prayer meetings, worship services and Bible study groups throughout the week, as well as several programs and events throughout the year, such as the Vacation Bible Study summer camp for youth. The church is located on one of Hanahan's lovely side streets, set back from the fast-paced commercial likes of US-52 and elsewhere.
