History of Village Park Homes John Cardamone ( CEO - Village Park Homes ) ( click to view biography ) The philosophy for Village Park Homes began in 1990, first with the development of Colleton River Plantation and later Belfair Plantation, both located in the coastal region of South Carolina. Colleton and Belfair are award winning world-class residential golf course communities, which are unique in their attention to detail from the smallest signpost to the largest of homes and clubhouses. Thoughtfully Designed Communities It occurred to me that affordable yet thoughtfully designed family neighborhoods with quality-built homes were an important feature that was missing from the growing Bluffton community. I believed that this was not only possible to accomplish, but also necessary to provide for local residents and those that have come from other parts of the country to enjoy our southern climate and way of life. I knew this could be achieved by spreading the cost of our experienced team of land planners, engineers and contractors over a larger number of less expensive homes. The idea worked well, and resulted in some of the area's most popular communities in Bluffton, SC including Woodbridge, Sandy Point, Arborwood, The Willows, Barton's Run, Lawton Station and Alston Park and in the Savannah and Brunswick, GA communities of Southbridge, The Gates at Savannah Quarters, Shell Point and Sweetwater at Golden Isles. We successfully designed communities with winding streets and cul-de-sacs to create a true sense of neighborhood. The proof is now evident in the bustling after school activity among children enjoying their neighborhoods, riding their bikes down the meandering streets to our centrally located parks, and participating in afternoon basketball and baseball games. Our adults also enjoy walking in our neighborhoods, whether it's for exercise or just enjoying the evening sunsets over our parks. We take pride in all the thoughtful details, which serve to distinguish our neighborhoods from other builder communities. Roads are designed to help slow traffic for safety and houses are situated in varying distances from the street and turned left and right, which results in a more appealing streetscape. Mailboxes are grouped in twos to reduce street side clutter and utility boxes are decoratively landscaped and pushed back from the curb. The impressive level of detail also extends to the same high-end streetlights that we use in our luxury golf communities. Beautiful parks, sidewalks and designated playgrounds are additional features of our communities. At Alston Park and Lawton Station our clubhouses are designed to compliment the design of the communities and include workout facilities, meeting spaces and large and inviting resort-style swimming pools. In response to our attention to community aesthetics, homeowners in our neighborhoods are dedicated to the maintenance of their homes and landscaping, which contributes to a greater overall sense of community pride. Other builder communities are notorious for cutting corners to build a lower quality, cheaper product. We are dedicated to delivering the best-built homes and providing our customers with the greatest value and we do not believe in compromising quality to achieve this. We could save money by cutting our roofs off at the edge of the wall as our competitors do, but in the southeastern United States roofs are designed to overhang for a reason. This design feature is crucial to protecting the side of the structure and preserving the integrity of the windows under the roofline. Additionally, our competitors practice the narrowing of front door sidewalks and driveways to save money. At Village Park Homes, we think it's more pleasant to walk next to one another when approaching the front door instead of in a single-file line. Stepping out of your car directly onto the grass is not a good idea so we build our driveways wider. Exceptional Warranty Service Great warranty servi
