Located within the Old Santee Canal Park, the Berkeley County Museum tells the 12,000-year-old story of the region. Exhibits and artifacts focus on the American Revolution, Native Americans, early medicine, rural electrification, and the Francis Marion National Forest. Summerville-Dorchester Museum

The Summerville-Dorchester Museum is located in the historic area of Summerville. Its goal is to share artifacts from the area with visitors. Over 1,200 objects are on display, including whale ears, silver serving pitchers, photographs and fossils. Featured exhibits include Native American and American Revolutionary War items. The museum also offers walking tours of Summerville and hosts an annual plant sale to raise funds. Volunteers are always welcomed.
