St. James High School, established in 2002, is a learning center that enrolls more than 1,300 students in grades 9 through 12. The school features a library and media center, auditorium, gymnasium and computer laboratories. It offers a range of general academic, special education, honors and advanced placement programs. The school provides education in calculus, law, journalism, applied biology and marine science. It also conducts classes in pottery, public speaking, photography and advertising. St. James High School offers various sports activities, such as volleyball, football, swimming, softball, cross country, golf and tennis. It operates several clubs and student organizations, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, band, chorus, orchestra, art and drama. The school additionally provides guidance counseling, meals and medical care. Located in Murrells Inlet, S.C., St. James High School is governed by Horry County Schools, which operates over 45 elementary, middle and high schools.
