Dr. Shelly Ozark obtained her medical degree from University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. She subsequently performed her neurology residency at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Ozark then completed her vascular neurology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in neurology. She was appointed assistant professor of neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where she maintains an active clinical practice through the University and the MUSC Telehealth Program. She is co-director of MUSC neurovascular lab and associate program director of the neurology residency program at MUSC. She is involved with several ongoing research studies. Her academic and research interest include the development of new acute stroke therapies and the optimization of systems of acute stroke care to achieve better clinical outcomes.
