The South Carolina Technical College System is operated by the SC State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education. The statewide system includes 16 technical colleges, a center for accelerated technology and training for industry-specific training and a State Tech Board staff. The State Tech Board is responsible for the state-level development, implementation and coordination of post-secondary occupational and technical training and education. The purpose of these efforts is to support the economic development of the state. Its foundation was established for the sole purpose of developing and administering programs acquiring external funds that will enhance and support the South Carolina State Technical College System; to market and develop public relations programs for the System; and, to promote consortia activities within the System. The Foundation is organized and is operated exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. South Carolina Technical College System is located in Columbia, S.C.
