The Tega Cay Fire Department has been serving Tega Cay, S.C., since 1973. The department is responsible for providing fire protection, prevention and safety services to more than 4,000 residents. The Tega Cay Fire Department maintains a physical workout area, kitchen, private office, and storage, meeting and training rooms. It provides extrication, hazardous material containment, dive rescue, and fire suppression and prevention services. The department maintains a rescue boat, ambulance, and brush and support truck, as well as a fleet of fire engines. Its members participate in various community events, including annual barbecues. The Tega Cay Fire Department also conducts various educational programs on fire safety and prevention.
