Raymond Turner, MD, is a neurosurgeon and neuro-endovascular surgeon at Prisma Health. Dr. Turner completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Sacred Heart University where he also played collegiate baseball. He went on to complete his medical degree in Poznan, Poland. Dr. Turner completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic in neurological surgery, followed by a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery. After completing his training, Dr. Turner practiced at MUSC in Charleston for more than 10 years. Nationally, Dr. Turner serves as an examiner for the American Board of Neurological Surgery. An avid researcher with expertise in device development, he has been an invited speaker at 90+ academic engagements and has more than 145 peer-reviewed publications. He has participated in more than 80 preclinical and clinical research studies. Additionally, Dr. Turner has been a guest teacher in 50+ hands-on national and international training courses. Outside of practicing medicine, he has been outspoken about the benefits of physical fitness in educating school-age children, which resulted in Dr. Turner being featured in the award-winning documentary "The Motivation Factor."
