First (Scots ) Presbyterian Church is an historic church blessed with a beautiful and sacred sanctuary constructed in 1814. The interior space is lovely and sanctified by many memories throughout the generations. The Ontko & Young pipe organ is magnificent and the largest in the city. Understandably, the sanctuary lends itself to worship, including a marriage service which is always a service of worship in the Presbyterian Church. Because we are a growing church with many members who wish to marry here, and because most churches on the peninsula no longer allow non-member weddings, we receive more requests for weddings than we can possibly accommodate. It has become necessary to place certain restrictions on our wedding policies. Those persons who have been active members of First (Scots ) for twelve months or more and who are in good standing (actively attending and contributing ) are allowed to schedule weddings for any future date, pending date availability. Non-members and those who have been members of First (Scots ) less than twelve months may request to schedule a wedding no more than six months prior to their desired date. For non-member weddings, either the bride or the groom must currently be an active member of a Presbyterian Church, and a letter from either the pastor or the Session of said church must be received confirming this membership and explaining why the request is being made. The complete First (Scots ) Wedding Policy is available below. After carefully reading this policy, please contact Jamie Kuznik to check date availability.
