to CompuScripts CompuScripts, Inc, established in 1993, is a full service court reporting agency specializing in realtime technologies. CompuScripts, Inc, strives to stay on the cutting edge of technology and continuously improves the selection of services from which its clients choose. Services like legal videography, realtime depositions, text and video webstreaming, videoconferencing, and digitized exhibits have been added to its portfolio of offerings over the last 14 years. In 1997, during a growth phase of its court reporting business, CompuScripts began offering Communication Access Realtime Technology ( CART ) and broadcast captioning services. In July of 1999, the captioning and CART services offered were spun off into a new company called CompuScripts Captioning, Inc, to concentrate exclusively on offering public and private entities effective communication services benefiting predominately the hard-of-hearing and Deaf communities. CompuScripts Captioning is endorsed by the Described and Captioned Media Program ( DCMP ). DCMP is administered by the National Association of the Deaf and funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Achieving DCMP Approved Captioning Service Vendor status is a prestigious honor in the captioning industry. Of those who participate in the rigorous evaluation process necessary to acquire approved vendor status, only half actually earn the distinction. Deborah Dusseljee, President of CompuScripts, Inc, CompuScripts Captioning, Inc, began her court reporting career in 1984. Deborah is a Registered Professional Reporter. She has served as President of the South Carolina Shorthand Reporters Association, Editor of The Palmetto Line, S.C. Delegate to the National Committee of State Associations and mentor to students of the USC Women's Basketball Team. Deborah is both a professional broadcast captioner and realtime court reporter. Bruce D. Balmer, MBA, CIRM, CLVS, CCVS, CME, is Vice President of CompuScripts, Inc, CompuScripts Captioning, Inc He joined the company in 2002 after spending 21 years in manufacturing and distribution management. Bruce has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, an MBA from the University of South Carolina, and a Certification in Integrated Resource Management from APICS, The Association for Operations Management. He served as Membership Chair, Treasurer, Webmaster, and President for the Midlands Chapter of APICS over a five-year period that ended in 2003. He is a Certified Legal Video Specialist with the National Court Reporters Association and a Certified Court Video Specialist with the American Guild of Court Videographers. He is a Certified Media Expert with LiveNote. He serves on the NCRA's Certified Legal Video Specialists Council and is a moderator and frequent contributor to the Yahoo Groups Legal Video forum.
