The Edisto Research & Education Center, operated by Clemson University, aims to assist the farmers of South Carolina by finding better ways to grow and harvest crops, raise beef cattle and conserve natural resources. The center is also one of the five branch stations of the South Carolina Agriculture and Forestry Research System. Established in 1937, its facility covers an area of more than 2,000 acres. The Edisto Research & Education Center undertakes research in the areas of beef cattle and commercial horticulture, as well as corn, cotton, peanuts, soybeans and small grains. The center is located in Blackville, S.C.
