Founded in 1773, The Charleston Museum holds a range of cultural and scientific collections of South Carolina region. Based in Charleston, S.C., the museum maintains a collection of furniture, silver, textiles, quilts, ceramic, documentary and photographic resource, ornithology and firearms. It operates two centers named Heyward-Washington House and the Joseph Manigault House. The center is available for group tours and school groups as well as offer travel exhibits to institutions within the region. Additionally, it provides family programs, birthday parties, educational programs and scouting. The Charleston Museum has received accreditation from American Association of Museums.
